It’s all the the mowing direction nothing to do with the grass type.
it is all in the way you mow the lawn. go up in a honest line then mow the next “line” down in the opposite direction.
keep alternating making sure you keep the borders clean and honest;
You need to have either a place to turn around or a zero turn radius mower. The effect subdue won’t be as dramatic as you see in commercial applications, except you buy something like a skag with a striping roller kit. Those really place down pressure on the grass to heighten the effect. That’s all it is, is the grass lying two different ways. It’d probably be fun to play with a modest bit, even without any fancy equipment. I’m sure you could get some striping with any mower. Myself, I’d never go honest enough. I’d slap a bug and ruin everything! Excellent luck and have fun!
