They produce suckers and the suckers grow into new plants, and the older produces more until it gets too old. The only problem is don’t plant them next to or where tomatoes grew since they share similar diseases. You have to watch out for the suckers though. You have to keep them in check otherwise you’ll have strawberry plants everywhere, more than you can handle.
If the large leaves are blocking cut them off close to the base, this will increase ventilation and an opening for bees and pollinators to get to them. If you are getting very few flowers, add some fertilizer that is high in phosphorous, instead of nitrogen.

if its blocking the sunlight from the flower then cut it off. as long theres some small leaves that you seegrowing up and acouple big ones. in my expeirience this will not hurt the plant and has actually been benificial.
my strawberry plants have a lot of large leaves and only a few flowers right now. can i cut the large leaves off? will it cause problems with growth if i do?
the large number of large leaves seem to be blocking some inner flowers from sunlight.
